Performances/workshops

Hi girlies,
Here's a proposal for presenting our final idea...
It would be great to target schools and use it as an education tool, alongside any current knowledge they have of gloabl warming issues. We could have a short presentation or talk about the issues, nothing too heavy or formal, possibly interactive. This could then be followed by a workshop of movement ideas around the stimulus (our pictures and videos), creating movement in a similar way as us. This involves them and educates them in a disgusted way. We could then (at the discretion of the school) perform a snippet of our final piece, so they can see what we created.
This itself edcuates them with not only the issues but also dance and gives them an insight into a degree programme.
Following on from this we could do a short run (of around 2/3 nights) of the final piece in a theatre or dance space for a wider audience.

Gathering a final idea

So, so far we've got:
- Doing individual states of water - Gemma - Gas, Jess - Liquid, Terri - Solid.
- Use pictures/videos as stimuli for movement
- Relate these states to environmental issues (regarding arctic)
-  Raise awareness of these issues of global warming effects through workshops/performances.

Developing ideas

I like your thinking Terri... considering global issues and disasters can relate to more people - wider audience etc. Erm, if we all do an individual state of water like we discussed i.e. Gemma - Gas, Jess - Liquid, Terri - Solid, we can each focus on our topic and do more in depth research rather than having superficial knowledge of the general subject. Then the movement and concepts we use to choreograph will be more accurate.
The images and videos you two have posted are interesting, we can use them as stimuli in the studio :)

Environment

We could make something bigger out of the idea of water and link it to environmental issues such as:
-floods
-tsunami
-dehydration (desert)
etc. - global warming issues
